Woonsub  Kim is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Samsung’s  Telecommunication Systems Business providing wireless infrastructure, enterprise  communication equipments and home networking devices including set-top box. Based  on long experience in the field of Telecommunication, his strong insight for technology  and market trends and strategic management ability has been instrumental to the  rapid growth of Samsung Electronics.
In  September 2007, Kim was appointed General Manager of Telecommunication Systems  Division. Under his leadership, the division achieved remarkably improved  financial performance in two consecutive fiscal years, and Samsung has secured  a strong global presence in wireless access business including Mobile WiMAX and  Set-Top Box.
Prior to  his current role, he was Executive Vice President of Business Management Office  of Samsung’s Telecommunication Network Business. He has always been at the forefront of the success of Samsung mobile handset businessandthe world’s best  CDMA and Mobile WiMAX systems business.
Before  joining Samsung Electronics in 1979, he obtained a master’s degree as well as a  bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Kyungpook  National University,  and completed executive courses in management at Seoul  National University  and International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Switzerland.

He was awarded a Bronze Tower,  the Order of Industrial Service Merit in April 2003, from the Korean government  in recognition of his contribution to the growth of Telecommunication Network  Business including mobile phone and wireless network business areas at Samsung.
